My first regular weekend in how long?

Woke up pretty early for a day off - still started with coffee. Was up for quite awhile before I felt hungry. Wanted something like take-out so made a "breakfast wrap" with 2 scrambled eggs, bacon and 40g of swiss cheese in a high-fibre wrap. It tasted really good but was a little drippy.
Had another cup of coffee with my wrap.
After going to the gym and the grocery store I needed something to keep me until dinner. 51g of mixed nuts and some pop.
Dinner was 110g of roast beef, brussel sprouts and a salad.
These little nsa/fat-free creamsicles have been in the freezer for weeks. Only 25 calories each.
While cleaning up the kitchen found a few mouthfuls of coffee left in the bottom of the pot. Added ice and some cream for half a glass of iced coffee.
Total today 1,546 calories and 48g of carbohydrates. Much closed to what I would like aim for most days.

It's Friday - and for me it really is Friday!

Yes, I'm finally working Monday-Friday, at least for now. Started with 2 servings of Whey Gourmet protein shake in milk chocolate flavour and coffee.Lunch was a bit of left-over chicken breast (80g) and some celery and radishes.

Coffee for afternoon break.
Dinner was a pretty large pork chop (165g) with cranberry sauce on since there's still lots left and it tastes really good. Also brussel sprouts and a salad.
When I got my coffee this afternoon I also bought another "superflax" muffin. I had about 2/3 of it this evening with a pot of tea. (Doug ate the other 1/3).
Total calories 1,640 and 81g of carbohydrates.

Thursday - post number 202

As ususal - started with coffee.Didn't make lunch - had strange work hours today. Bought this on my way to work Broccoli Delight salad. They had others but the dressing on this one had the least carbs. It was pretty tasty, especially nice having salty roasted sunflower seeds that stuck to the broccoli thanks to the ranch dressing.Closed the library early for strike action but had to go downtown for a city council meeting this evening. Made coffee (to help me stay awake during the meeting) had more broccoli, cooked this time 145g, the last of the sweet potato from Thanksgiving dinner (80g) and some chicken (100g) with cranberry sauce (1 tbsp) since we already finished the turkey.
Thought this pomegranate looked really nice but it was under-ripe in parts so I only had about half.
Back to some of my bad habits. Feeling put-upon and bored after the council meeting (even though I only stayed for an hour) I came home and had 32g of mixed nuts and a Ross' nsa chocolate bar for a snack. I did eat them slowly and mindfully - but wasn't really hungry.
Since I ate so little early in the day my total calories today were only 1,128 although counting the maltitol as carbs, my total was 71g. The sweet potato was kinda high and surprisingly the fitday doesn't list any fibre in a pomegranate although I'm pretty sure all those little seeds should count for something!

Wednesday

Feeling very tired knowing the chaos that's waiting at work - between holiday weekends and strike action nothing will be normal and the staff will just run like mad all day playing catch-up. I had coffee at home and made 2 scoops of whey protein drink but took it to work in a little bottle for my morning break.
Came home at lunch to get away from the mess and was lucky enough to still have left-overs that I could just heat in the microwave. Brussell sprouts, sweet potato, turkey and cranberry sauce.
In the afternoon I went to the Village Patisserie for a coffee - which I drank but didn't manage to take a picture of, sorry. I also bought a super-flax muffin for my dinner since Doug is working late for the second night in a row and I'm too lazy to cook. Also I could use a little more fibre in my diet right now.
By the time Doug came home and we sat down together to watch CSI New York I was feeling peckish so had a handful (30-35g) of mixed nuts.
I tried to get an estimate from fitday - difficult not know all the muffin ingredients - however let's call it 1,573 calories and 107g carbohydrates (though much of that is fibre).

Tuesday - back at work, sort of...

I'm using the same picture of coffee from yesterday since I forgot my camera at my mom's house yesterday and couldn't possibly go fetch it without my morning coffee.

Stole Doug's breakfast out of the frying pan and took it to work. Two sausages and two medium fried eggs. An hour after starting work it was time for another job action. We all crashed the library board meeting downtown and then picketed around the branch for a couple of hours.
Lunch was my equivalent of the post-Thanksgiving turkey sandwich. I had a big chunk of turkey breast (about 120g) a little stuffing and a big spoonful of cranberry sauce in a wrap. Also a few celery sticks.
We were so far behind with work I nibbled on a few nuts late in the afternoon while continuing to work.

Yay! Left-overs! I had 120g brussel sprouts, 50g of turkey and a tablespoon of cranberry sauce.
Then I remembered the other container with the sweet potatoes and had 78g of them. For an evening snack I had another serving of mixed nuts.
Calories for today 1,355 and 55g of carbohydrates.

Monday - Thanksgiving in my country

This entry is a whole day late because my camera was forgotten at Mom's place after Thanksgiving dinner last night.

Up at a reasonable time since we had holiday visiting to do today. Coffee.
Went out to the Moka House for tea and snacks with Jen who was visiting from the mainland. I had an entire cinnamon roll but nibbled at it and really made it last.
Mid-afternoon, realizing I wouldn't make it till turkey time I had the last of the Santos salsa (yum) and a handful of the high fibre tortilla chips left over from Saturday evening.
Once at Mom's we were treated to little canapés.
I had two pieces and a glass of wine.
Mixed greens with vinaigrette.
Turkey with stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy. Brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes and a little mashed potato.
About 1/3 of a small cheese scone.
A rather small piece of pumpkin pie.
A York peppermint pattie. I ate about 1/2 and gave the rest to Doug.
No idea how many calories but I think I did pretty well for Thanksgiving!

Sunday - slightly hung-over with party left-overs to eat

Surprisingly didn't actually want coffee first thing. Had some of the left-over peach that we had been using as a garnish last night with about 1/2 cup of yogourt.
Eventually wanted my coffee and grabbed four of the little nsa sugar-free cookies that I managed to avoid last night.
More coffee!
Finally hungry again around 4pm. Had gingerale and the left-overs of Kama's spicy nuts. About 1/2 cup of seasoned cashews and almonds.
Since I was not going to be shopping or cooking today Doug ran over to Safeway and picked up a pre-cooked bbq chicken from the delo. For dinner I made a small salad and just shredded some of the chicken breast on top.
Sorry - didn't do fit day at all - probably won't Monday either since I'll be going out with a friend for coffee/snacks as well as going to Mom's for Thanksgiving dinner.

Saturday - tired but not too tired to party!

Not interested in making breakfast or lunch this morning. Just coffee.

Picked up a blueberry bran muffin and a coffee (also a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving dinner).

Grabbed a bbq chicken breast from the deli at the supermarket. Picked at it a bit before I remembered to take a picture.

"Cheeseburgers" and a salad for dinner.

Shortly before 8pm four of our friends turned up for the first of what I'm sure will be frequent karaoke parties with our new SingStar game for the PS2. For snackies we had hi-fibre taco chips with Santos salsa, Kama's spiced nuts, Carol's artichoke dip with fresh veggies. There was also some chex mix but I didn't have any of that.

For social lubrication and singing enhancement we had Andrew's famous Peach Martinis. I think I had four. So really - way too many calories and carbs. I did however, sing my little heart out and do rather a lot of dancing too.

It was a good party - and the uncontrolled laughing and having of unbridled fun was certainly worth the excesses. Instead of worrying about work and diets and stuff I have an unending medley of 80's tunes running through my head. Big improvement.
