No adverse effects from the antibiotics yet - cross fingers! Coffee and two scoops of Whey Gourmet milk chocolate flavour protein shake.40g salami, 50g cheese, jicama, radish and celery.
Coffee.
Afternoon snack (there being 6 hours today between lunch and quitting time) 1/2 cup yogourt and two bits of celery with smoked salmon flavoured cream cheese.

Doug made dinner tonight. Taco salad. Lettuce, tomato, 120g of lean ground beef, 40g of shredded cheese and a big blog of sour cream.
Later while watching one of our new favorite shows "Chuck" I split a small bag of Power Pop, popcorn with Doug. Only 25g and very moreish - Doug talked me out of any more though. Thanks!
Total calories 1,656 and only 35g of carbohydrates. Yay me!

Well, that wasn't so hard...

Here I was thinking that getting back on track after straying further and further and finally giving up entirely for more than a week would be a real struggle. I guess I've been weighing and recording my food for so long now that it's pretty easy to get right back to it. Surprise!
Coffee. Two eggs fried in a little butter.
Didn't really feel like going out but Rob came and picked me up and took me to scooter coffee and then to do some groceries. Thanks Rob - I do feel better for getting out! I had a Moka-sized Americano at the Moka House at Shoal Point.
Snack on some celery when I was organizing the groceries and preparing dinner.
Roast beef (122g) and broccoli (60g) and our usual side salad. I made a few tablespoons of gravy with the pan drippings.
Having skipped most of a meal today I was a bit hungry in the evening. I had 1/4 of a pear and 15g of monchego sheep cheese and 25g of Bresse bleu. Yum!
Grand totals for today only 1,140 calories and 27 grams of carbs. At this rate I should hit my low weight from last month in a day or two.

Saturday's eatings

Thank goodness for the daylight savings to standard time change. I had a rough night and really needed that extra hour. My persistent sinus infection that has left me open to cold after cold is still with me and after procrastinating 5 days and hoping that "it would clear up on it's own" I've given in and started taking the antibiotic my doctor prescribed last week.

Started the day with coffee.Bacon and eggs (2 each).
Having not done groceries in awhile we both had a Flat-Out brand high-fibre wrap with salami, cheese and a handful of greens. I also made sure to take my acidophilus supplement to counter-act the antibiotic.
Doug had a package of these maltitol sweetened peppermint patties. I had one.
While rooting around in the depths of the fridge for anything for dinner I found a pomegranate so had that for a snack. Ate about 2/3 of the thing since bits of it were starting to go off.
With no meal planning in place we ended up with a cheese and mushroom omelet for supper (with a tiny bit of chopped bacon). Made a big salad to try and compensate for lack of vegetables today.
1,750 calories and 63 net grams of carbohydrates for the day.

Had a little break - now I'm back!

I'm kind of surprised myself. After only two weeks of eating take-out I'm sick of feeling bloated and gaining weight and desperately want to give this another go. Unfortunately the stressors that caused me to give up are still in my life - I still have the persistent sinus infection that seems to open me up to every cold bug that comes down the pike and we're still doing rotating strikes/job actions at my place of employment. Documenting what I eat doesn't actually take much effort but shopping for good food and cooking does. Let's see how I manage.

Started the day with coffee and two large eggs scrambled.
Before leaving for work shortly after noon I had a snack of a hard-boiled egg and a 47g chunk of cheddar cheese.
For my first break at work I had half a gala apple.
For "dinner" (my meal break is from 4-5pm) I had a salad of mixed greens, 5 cherry tomatoes and two sliced radishes with a ready-t0-eat tuna slice in curry sauce on top.
Dessert was 1/2 cup plain yogourt sweetened with sugar-free Torani syrup and the other 1/2 of the apple.
A nice big coffee so I could remain alert until the end of my shift at 9pm.
For my evening coffee break I had four little celery sticks filled with smoked salmon flavoured cream cheese (about 2 tablespoons).
When I got home I felt quite hungry (today was a big change from the enormous servings of restaurant food I've had the last week or so). I made a pot of tea and a recipe I learned years ago when I first started following a low-carb lifestyle. The flax bun is made from butter/coconut oil, an egg, 1/4 cup of flax meal, baking soda and something for flavour. This evening I used a packet of splenda, a teaspoon of cocoa powder and a pinch of chopped walnuts for a slightly sweet muffin substitute. Lots of calories but very low in carbohydrates and very filling.
Kept track in fitday again. Only 1,511 calories and 53 net grams carbohydrates. Let's hope I can keep it up.

Saturday and Sunday and maybe that's it

So I've had a cold or something for a few days now. We're both dealing with strike action at work and I haven't been cooking like I used to because I just don't seem to have the energy to even do the grocery shopping.
Over the past couple of weeks I've noticed that I have missed a few pictures because I was distracted and didn't take one of a coffee or snack or what have you. Moreover a couple of times I have taken my picture then taken another couple of nuts or added a something that didn't make it into this blog.
When I started this it really was "Everything" and now it's not so it's just not working anymore. I haven't actually lost any weight in the past month. It doesn't help that my visits to the gym have been sporadic and low-carb is just a vague memory - but I know that if I don't find another gimmick to get me back on track I'm in danger of backsliding.
Thanks for reading. If I come up with anything else I'll definitely post about it here and if I come up with a new blog or page I'll make sure to add a link.
Thanks again for your support.

Lynn

Saturday dinner. Beef stew with carrot and jicama that I dug out of the freezer.Jell-o nsa pudding cup.
Sunday, coffee at the Moka House. I had a large americano and a bran and berry muffin that wasn't very good, I ate about 2/3 of it.
After coffee, Rob took me on a couple of errands and I invited him in for coffee. I bought two boxes of the new Peak Freans Lifestyle cookies. Lemon and jam filled. They're made with regular flour but low-sugar. I had one of each with another coffee.
Afternoon snack - pomegranate.
Sunday dinner. Roast chicken, mashed celery root a little gravy and a side salad.
Safeway brand of nsa frozen dessert pop.

Thursday and Friday - came down with a cold...

Felt tired Thursday and by the end of the day felt chilled and had a sore throat and some body aches. Didn't blog on time and didn't really keep track.

Friday woke up in the wee hours barely able to breathe with congestion. Doug called in sick for me and I eventually slept again until noon. Had a mixture of ginger-ale and low-cal cranberry juice a couple of times along with some clear tea. Doug was home and was able to feed me a couple of small meals.

and then today the muffin won...

Coffee.One sausage, one fried egg.
More coffee.
Tuna salad, celery, jicama, radishes and a jell-o chocolate nsa/fat-free pudding.
Yet more coffee.
When I picked up the coffee in the afternoon - which I don't think I really needed I bought one of Susie's 'superflax' muffins. She was just bagging them up for the end of the day 2 for 1 special and I had to insist that I only wanted one. I mentioned that they were very big and dense and had a lot of calories but she (as the baker) said they weren't as calorie-laden as commercially made muffins since she used all whole grains and much less fat.
I really can't say with any certainty because of the muffin - but fitday gives me 1,857 calories and 146g of carbs.
