Thursday and Friday - came down with a cold...

Felt tired Thursday and by the end of the day felt chilled and had a sore throat and some body aches. Didn't blog on time and didn't really keep track.

Friday woke up in the wee hours barely able to breathe with congestion. Doug called in sick for me and I eventually slept again until noon. Had a mixture of ginger-ale and low-cal cranberry juice a couple of times along with some clear tea. Doug was home and was able to feed me a couple of small meals.

and then today the muffin won...

Coffee.One sausage, one fried egg.
More coffee.
Tuna salad, celery, jicama, radishes and a jell-o chocolate nsa/fat-free pudding.
Yet more coffee.
When I picked up the coffee in the afternoon - which I don't think I really needed I bought one of Susie's 'superflax' muffins. She was just bagging them up for the end of the day 2 for 1 special and I had to insist that I only wanted one. I mentioned that they were very big and dense and had a lot of calories but she (as the baker) said they weren't as calorie-laden as commercially made muffins since she used all whole grains and much less fat.
I really can't say with any certainty because of the muffin - but fitday gives me 1,857 calories and 146g of carbs.

resisted the call of the muffin!

Coffee, one egg and one strip of bacon for breakfast.
Lunch was 55g of salami and 60g of cheese, jicama, radish and celery.

Had 1/2 cup yogourt for my afternoon break but somehow didn't take a picture!

For dinner we had pork chops (110g) and some grilled zucchini (120g) and a side salad.

Needed a little something more later on so had 30g of mixed nuts and a regular (as opposed to my usually huge) mug of de-caf.

Total calories for today 1,609 and 46g of carbs.

Strangely normal work day

Had coffee for breakfast and a few sips of whey protein drink - took the rest to work and had on morning break.Lunch was tuna salad, radishes, celery and jicama.
Finally got to my thermos of coffee late in the afternoon.
For dinner made chicken breasts in creamy mushroom sauce. Also some sauted zucchini and a side salad.
Nsa, fat-free creamsicle.
1,643 calories and only 36g of carbohydrates. A few more days like this will hopefully jump-start me back into quick loss mode.

treats galore!

Started early in the morning with coffee.
By the time I got to the correct coffee house I was really hungry. I had been dreaming of Black Stilt's Chicken Pesto paninni and was caught off guard by the change in location. I fixated on the first yummy thing that I saw - a lemon macaroon bar. Coconut is healthy, right? This was huge and sweet and probably about 500 calories. I'm not going to even try and count carbs today.
After a very long ride and some shopping at the Red Barn, Rob came over for coffee and a snack. I cut up an apple and about 30g each of swiss and cheddar as well as a handful of wheat thins crackers. I had six crackers, four slices of apple (about half the apple) and maybe 1/3 of the cheese. And more coffee.
For dinner we had left-over roast beef (120g), brussel sprouts and a salad.

With the yummy cheeses I bought yesterday and the fruit I picked up today it was inevitable that Doug and I would have a plate like this eventually. This time I only had three slices of apple and two of pear as well as about 20g of brie and 30g of chevre.Bad day carb-wise but great tastes! In fitday I picked macaroon at 150g for my coffee-house treat (606 cals) and tried to be brutally honest about the rest. Totals 1,647 calories and 156g carbohydrates. Yikes. Ketosis? What is this ketosis of which you speak?
