Back to a normal day at work

Breakfast consisted of 2 scoops of Whey gourmet vanilla, 81g of blackberries and coffee.Morning break (3 1/2 hours later) 30g sharp cheddar and coffee.
Lunch was egg salad made by Doug (3 eggs, mayo, pepper) and the usual veg - celery, jicama and radishes. Also sugar-free cherry jell-o.
For dinner I made something like a skillet dinner of chicken parmigiana. I started with four small skinless, boneless chicken thighs and sauted them till mostly done. I also cooked about two cups of sliced mushrooms and stirred in a jar of classico bruschetta (like tomato sauce but with big chunks of tomato) and a bag of shiritaki noodles. Simmered it together then topped with grated mozza and parm and stuck the whole mess under the broiler for a couple of minutes. It was very tasty. I credited myself in fitday with half the recipe but ended up eating somewhat less. Also a very tiny salad.
Totals for today 1,484 calories (possibly less) and 46g of carbohydrates.

strike action and an extra long day at work

Started today with coffee and a double scoop of Whey Gourmet chocolate protein shake.Had a pretty good workout at the gym and came home just in time to make a dinner to take with me to work and eat a quick lunch. Lunch was a little lox, a chunk of cream cheese, radishes, jicama, celery and a couple of mushrooms.
An hour after I started my shift we walked out for three hours. I had a hard-boiled egg.
And a coffee.
I had made a wrap for my dinner. Turkey and corned beef, a little red onion, cucumber and some lettuce on a high-fibre wrap. There I am on a bench, eating outside the library.

By 7pm I was tired and my knee was throbbing. I had my yogourt and a 30g chunk of swiss cheese.

When I got home I was still fairly hungry - looked a the sardines but decided on the kipper snack.
Feeling pretty sorry for myself - having lost 3 hours of pay while having to stand in place in front of my work... I chose one serving, four tiny sugar-free cookies. While not actually low-carb since they're still made with wheat flour a serving only has 100 calories and pretty much filled the bill for something nummy.
Totals today, 1,443 calories and 50g of carbohydrates.

Still at work, still eating well...

Normal breakfast of one slice bacon, two eggs and coffee. At some point over the last six months I downsized my eggs from the huge "jumbo" size that I used to buy at the butcher's through extra-large and large and now buy medium size free-range eggs at Safeway.Did bring my own coffee today so when to that shop.
Tuna salad with jicama, radishes and celery. Today I did eat the 1/2 cup yogourt that I had originally brought yesterday.
Dinner was a pork chop, grilled (180g) and a big salad with a creamy dill dressing.
Not many calories left today so I had the last slice of cantaloupe for dessert.
Later on when I really wanted a snack I had a regular-sized cup of decaf (as opposed to my normal huge mug).

Barely under 1,500 with 1,486 calories today and 36g of carbohydrates.

one day closer to our anniversary dinner

Coffee, one strip bacon, two eggs.Short-staffed at work so had coffee break while working... so not really a break, just coffee.
Celery, jicama, mushrooms, salami (two slices) turkey (50g) - under the turkey, 30g each of brie and sharp cheddar. It was so tasty and filling that I didn't even eat the yogourt that's sitting in front of my water bottle.
Got another of the whole wild pink salmon on sale at the market. That's about 140g worth and 37g of green beans. Lots of butter though, and a side salad.
It was a pretty light day calorie-wise so I felt fine having a big piece of a splenda-sweetened "Flaxmachine" cookie and a big mug of de-caf awhile after dinner. That really filled me up where the fish hadn't so much.
Totals: 1,454 calories and 42g of carbohydrates.

Yay! I remembered where the gym was.

Finally made it to the gym after a 10 day hiatus. Didn't work particularly hard because of the big gap but made a decent effort and sweated a bit.

Started this morning with coffee......and because I was going to work-out I had a double scoop of Whey Gourmet vanilla with some strawberries for added flavour and fibre.
Mid-afternoon, knowing I would never make it until 7pm when Doug got home I had 50g of salami and 41g of soy nuts.
For dinner I made taco salad with lots of romaine, half a tomato, 140g of seasoned ground beef, 40g of shredded cheddar and 45g of sour cream. Very tasty and very filling.
Later on I had 100g of cantaloupe melon. Yum!
Totals for today an excellent 1,387 calories and 32g of carbohydrates. That's what I like to see. Now I just have to make the gym a habit and all will be well.

struggling back

Slept in again so had a big omelet before heading out to my scooter meet-up. Three eggs, three large mushrooms, 35g of green onion and 32g of aged cheddar cheese, also some olive oil. And coffee.Strong americano from the Black Stilt.
Didn't end up going for a ride today so had a serving of the whey protein drink for a late, light lunch.
Feeling uninspired and lazy about dinner. Doug grilled up two small chicken breasts (120g each) and I just made a caesar salad. Lots of romaine, a couple of tablespoons of bottled dressing, about 25g of shredded parmesan each and lots of pepper on mine.
No more big ice cream type bars but we still have a stock of the little sugar-free ice pops. I had three (total 15 calories).
Much later on, the last of the blue cheese (40g) was calling to me, I had it with 100g of strawberries.
We also have a cantaloupe in the house, I had one slice (50g).Totals for today 1,431 calories and 31g of carbohydrates.

I've been trying hard to get back in the mind-set that I had when I started this. I still haven't successfully made the transition to a regular gym. I had decided that if I can keep fitday daily and stay under 1,500 calories for the next 7 days we can go back to that nice restaurant Glo for our anniversary next week. Now I just have to motivate myself to get to the rec. centre gym.

Let's begin again.

Coffee.
Whey Gourmet protein shake. One scoop.
More coffee.
Lunch of tuna salad, two carrot sticks, three radishes and rather a lot of celery. Also yogourt and started reading "Rethinking Thin" which is more about diet culture than how to diet. I'll let you know after I've read a bit more.
A hard-boiled egg for afternoon break.
Found fresh wild pink salmon at the market on the way home. Had it poached with a few green peas in the pod, rather a lot of butter and a salad.
Enjoyed my strawberries and cheese so much the other night I bought some imported berries since it'll be another week before my plants produce another serving. 100g berries and 45g cheese. Very yummy and calories and carbs right on track.
Well after several of weeks of dinners and parties and way too many treats and a couple of days of just being too sick to really care I'm hoping that I can now get back on track. I still need to make a commitment to a new gym (which is pretty scary) but will make the effort this weekend.
The good news - today's calories 1,430 and 34g of carbohydrates and nothing that I'm unhappy to have chosen.
