Very tired...

Started off with Whey Gourmet protein drink - 1 scoop and coffee.More coffee at breaktime and part of a Red Square Flaxmachine cookie. A serving is 28g and this piece is about 48g for a whopping 240 calories. It is however healthy and filling and the fat is all that good omega-3 stuff from the flax.
Lunchtime - celery, radish, jicama, tuna salad and the last of the nice Monchego sheep's cheese.
Doing a lot of food prep tonight for a party tomorrow so not really interested in cooking. 180g of chicken breast done on the counter-top grill, a side salad and a diet orange crush.
The chicken was very moreish and there were a couple of little bits left-over so I split them with Doug. That's another 25g there.
Later on after working up a sweat cleaning and fussing over tomorrow night I had two of the tiny freezer pops.
Total for today 1,510 calories and only 35g of carbohydrates. Wouldn't have gone over if I hadn't had that extra little piece of chicken. Not a big deal but seconds for the sake of taste is never a good idea.

Now it's my turn to work late...

Up early even though it's my turn for the late shift today. Went to the gym with Trevor to try and make a transition from my rehab place to the gym at my community centre.
So I needed coffee.

And had one scoop of Whey Gourmet chocolate. Before leaving for work at 12:30 I had two sausages and two fried eggs.

and another Skinny Cow fudge bar.

Warm day so time for an iced americano.
This is my wrap when I was making it this morning so you can see all the goodies I packed inside. Turkey, pastrami, tomatoes (yes they're yellow) cucumber , lettuce and mayo. This is it at work after being wrapped up for a few hours. Also 1/2 cup blackberries.

Break time at work. Diet Dr. Pepper and a hard-boiled egg.
When I got home I found my cheese snack in my lunch bag (nice and warm too) so I had that while I made lunch for tomorrow.
Needed a little more after the cheese so had the last of the yogourt in the container - probably just shy of 1/2 cup and 1/2 cup of blackberries. (I really picked a lot - still hardly made a dent!)
Total calories 1,474 and 46g of carbohydrates - more like normal in spite of the strange day.

Stress and discomfort and eating too much

The day started out well enough with coffee, one egg and one sausage.
Coffee break.Lunch is usually hard to mess up on since I've packed it the night before. Tuna salad, celery, radish and (surprise) broccoli and 1/2 cup blackberries with a little cream. At work we talk about the impending strike --> stress.
So I'm home from work and my husband is working late for the second night in a row so on my own for dinner. I'm pretty tired, my feet are sore (and I think I might have a slight bladder infection or some such) so I sit down at the computer to play and don't make dinner until I'm absolutely starving. Bad idea. I grab a wrap and since there's only about 70g of chicken left I make up the difference with bacon I had pre-cooked (nearly 40g) some mayo, tomato and lettuce and that should be dinner. I wolf it down and am still hungry for more (mistake number two).
So I grab the first easy thing I find (albeit from the freezer) almonds and some nsa chocolate chips. 30g of almonds and 20g of chocolate chips later and I feel a little ill and realize I've gone over my calorie goal for the day. Rats.
Calories today 1,674 (at least) but only 36g (net) of carbohydrates.

Back to work

Had to remember how to make breakfast while still mostly asleep. Coffee tasted funny and bacon and eggs overdone. Sigh.Coffee at breaktime.
Lunch of chicken salad (100g chicken breast, 1 tbsp mayo, 1/2 tbsp capers). In the baggies two big radishes, celery sticks and a baby cucumber. 1/2 cup raspberries.
The last of the coffee and a serving (28g) of the Superflax cookie from Red Square Bakery.
For dinner one Toulouse sausage (the kind you put in cassoulet), regular zucchini and a patty pan squash sauted. Side salad with a handful of blackberries on top.
The second last ice cream bar in the box.
Eating at work is going to be a challenge for awhile. Today 1,532 calories and 56g of carbs.

Back to work tomorrow...

...which should mean a little more regular mealtimes and less grazing. But I'll always still start the day with coffee.Wasn't hungry this morning but was going to exercise and didn't feel very good the last couple of times when I went without a proper meal. Had two scoops of Whey Gourmet (chocolate) which seemed to do the trick. I didn't feel bloated and I had lots of energy for my whole work out.
Eventually got around to lunch and decided just to sample some of the great stuff in the fridge. Celery, carrot, baby cucumber, again with Paillot de chevre, fois gras, Monchego and pastrami (see yesterday).
And for dessert one of the Skinny Cow brand fudge bars.
Doug was working his new shift at the Juan de Fuca branch which means that he didn't get home until 7:15. I had a big mittful of mixed nuts with nsa chocolate chips to keep me going.
Beef stew made with jicama instead of potato, a couple of slices of carrot and several mushrooms. About 150g of stew total and a side salad.
Already had dessert today so managed to resist a second one. Baby steps. Today's totals, about 1,426 calories and 70g of carbohydrates. Not sure where all those carbs came from - I guess fitday counts the sugar alcohols. I probably should too.

I can't believe I forgot my camera!!!

So I was playing World of Warcraft this morning and before I knew it, it was time to leave for Scooter Meet. I arrived at the Black Stilt starving and coffee-deprived only to search in my satchel and not find my camera! I was appalled! Luckily Carol had her camera inna phone with her and was able to take this picture and send it to me.
I had a large americano and 1/2 a chicken pesto pannini sandwich (or is that redundant?).

We rode out to Mattick's Farm to do a little market shopping and stopped for a nosh. Rob found his favorite Chocolate and peanut butter ice cream. I vaguely remember that being one of my favorite flavours too back in the day. I had three bites and did a little dance of enjoyment - much to Jim's amusement.
Afterwards Rob said something about berry picking and when queried, claimed that his home was surrounded by blackberry bushes. I followed him home, borrowed a coffee can and managed to nearly fill it with almost a kilo of berries! I was good and didn't snack while I was picking (although I did have to lick my fingers a few times) but as soon as I got home I had a big bowl of berries with a little cream and splenda. On the left is Debra's birthday present to me that she brought today - a cruet or similar that's been flattened in a kiln, mounted to hang on a wall with a few sprigs of lavender tucked in.
Now you think with the crisis of forgetting my camera this morning I would be extra careful - but as it turns out I carefully weighed my dinner and set the plate and bowl on the counter but didn't take the actual picture. I had a side salad and 100g of roast chicken breast with the skin on which is almost exactly what I had the day (weeks ago) when I took this picture.
Since dinner was a little on the light side I felt justified in having a snack of the extremely fatty, extremely decadent treats I picked up a day or two ago at Choux Choux the French delicatessen. The yellow cheese is actually Manchego a Spanish sheep's milk cheese. The nobby white one is Paillot de Chevre from Quebec a lovely semi-soft goat cheese. The paté is - get this Paté de foie gras with specks of black truffle. Needless to say it is very, very good.
Totals for today1,351 calories and 65g of carbohydrates. Not bad considering all the goodies!
