Coffee, coffee, ice cream! and coffee.

Today was possibly the least low-carb day since my trip to Salt Spring Island last month. I had a rough night and woke late and groggy. Had some yogourt and rhubarb and didn't even want to wait for coffee but stopped by that place on the way to work instead.Had a grande americano.
Still groggy and confused at morning break so went to the Village Patisserie and Deli for another coffee.
For lunch had about 50g of rosemary ham, 35g of blue cheese and the usual assortment of veg.
By afternoon break I was stressed, tired and wanted a little sumptin-sumptin, so I hauled out a snack I had been saving for quite awhile, a 50g bag of mixed nuts and sugar-free chocolate chips. I ate it all while working. Not responsible eating that.
For dinner I had a high fibre wrap with a little more of the rosemary ham, some deli chicken breast, tomato slices, cuke, lettuce, cheese(20g) and a smear of mayo.
Then Doug and I, accompanied by Rob headed out to the early show of "Live Free or Die Hard". It blowed up real good! I had a diet coke during the show but didn't take a picture since I was in a theatre.
Afterward I decided for some reason that I really wanted ice cream. I was actually quite hungry at this point and thought I had enough calories to have a little blowout. Doug and I ordered the Caramel Waffle Crisp Blizzard (small) and Rob had a Peanut Buster Parfait. We didn't keep exact count but I think I had six spoonfuls of the blizzard...
And one of Rob's parfait since that used to be my favorite back in the days when I ate this kind of this regularly.
When we got home I had a big drink of water and put out some almonds to snack on. I had 19g worth.
Then I made coffee for Rob and I
and grabbed another 2 almonds from the bowl (almost without thinking - argh!).
Although I had a huge 66g of carbohydrates today I did manage to keep the calories down to approximately 1,450 (given what I estimated in fitday - 1/3 cup of a DQ chocolate sundae).

Down another pound

Glad to see I was down another pound this morning. I had been quite low with calories and doing lots of exercise with little change since the weekend so down is good. Heeeeeere's coffee! One large lamb sausage and two fried eggs.
Too hot for coffee so had a Dr. Pepper (diet) instead.
Pretty much the same as yesterday, chicken salad with capers, jicama, celery, radishes and rhubarb which while in the picture came home with me and will probably get eaten tomorrow.
Dinner with Rob since Doug got called into work. Made chicken caesar (with croutons!) and I had about 3oz of Rob's beer since I knew I wouldn't be able to finish one myself.
For dessert we had the Breyer's Fudge bars. Yum!
After fighting with the computer for awhile we gave up and went for a swim. Came back a little peckish so I introduced Rob to jicama, I had two little sticks of it, probably 20g or so.
Even later I decided that the salad really hadn't been enough and I had four strawberries and about 35g of my favorite cheese.
Totals for the day 1,378 calories and 39g of carbs.

One hundred and one posts!

Had a rough night so dragged myself out of bed with barely enough time to get everything done before work. Here's my protein drink and my list of things to do before work. Of course there was coffee.
After physio I had brunch, again two eggs and two pork patties.
Met up with Mom and her friend Laura, who treated me to a coffee. Thanks again!
Dinner was chicken salad with capers, jicama, radishes and celery. Also a little container (about 1/2 a cup) of rhubarb. There's a diet Dr. Pepper in the background too that I drank over the course of the evening.
Realized when I got home I was really quite hungry. Went with the current favorite, blue cheese and fresh strawberries.
Totals for today: calories, a measley1,109 and carbs. only 26. Sleeping in has it's advantages!

same old, same old

Two eggs, fried and two pork patties. Coffee.Coffee at break time while I started a letter to Jen.
Once again tuna salad. Mushrooms, celery and rhubarb for dessert.
Coffee and a bite of cheese (30g) for afternoon break.
So warm out (and in the apartment) that we weren't really interested in cooked dinner. We had cold chicken and a slightly larger than normal salad.
A while later I had some strawberries and 30g of Bresse blue cheese.
Totals for today 1,385 calories and 34g of carbohydrates.

Wahhh, the weekend's over.

Right, so last night I caved and had a snack of one of these fat-free, no sugar added fudge bars. They're surprisingly good considering they're not actually food. Adding that on put my total at 1,455 calories for Monday.Tuesday now and back to work after a wild and wooly weekend. Blech. I really needed the coffee.
We only had two eggs left so I thought to leave them for Doug and just have a protein shake for breakfast. Because lunch wouldn't be until 1:00pm I had two servings that added up to 260 calories. After saying how much I liked this brand I may have to recant. It's really sweet. Really very sweet. Going back to coffee after a few sips of this was a shocker.

Morning coffee break and, oh look, coffee.
One of my favoritest patrons ever, Mrs. Kathleen Meilleur (widow of the extremely charming Rosario Meilleur) took pity on us on such a busy day and brought a pint of cherries for the staff to nosh on. I had five. They were yummy.

For lunch I had a wrap made with one the Flat Out high fibre wraps. We had no lettuce or spinach so I thinly sliced some tomato and cucumber and used 60g of the left-over pork and 24g of cheddar cheese, also a smear of mayo. It was very tasty. On the side were 150g of celery and 60g of jicama.
For dessert sugar-free orange jell-o.
Finished off the coffee while checking my e-mail.
Dinner was the very last of the roast pork (125g) some broccoli (30g) with a smidgen of butter (2g) [I found out tonight via fitday that 2g of butter has 14 calories, whoa!] and a salad.
Since it's warm and I'm sweating in the kitchen I just had another of the Bryer's fudge bars. I'll probably have another one tomorrow since the weatherman is threatening 29C temperatures with humidity. In Victoria, that's very warm.
Totals for today 1,335 calories and 52g of carbohydrates.

Scooter trip and Sidney Days

Started today with two fried eggs and my usual mug of coffee. Looks like the cream is about to go off.
Headed up to Sidney with buddy Rob on our scooters. We went into Serious Coffee for a comfy seat (the Honda Jazz is not made for long distance travel) and a coffee.
We had a bag of mixed nuts with sugar-free chocolate chips. I'm guessing I had 50g or so, at least that's what I put in fitday.
After wandering all over Sidney and seeing the fancy boats down at the marina we found a shady spot (thank goodness) and had a snack from Safeway. Pakoras and diet ginger-ale. I had five pieces.

For dinner we had short ribs (120g) braised in Scottish ale. I think I like the flavour better with a nice red wine but they were still very good. Also on the plate were 37g of carrots, and about a cup of spinach sauted with some portabello mushrooms and garlic. And the usual side salad. So far today 1,385 calories and 29g of carbohydrates.

Happy Canada Day!

Up early since the scooter gang is heading out to Fort Rodd Hill for the Canada Day celebrations!
Coffee.
Two fried eggs.
We meet at Timmy's and have coffee or breakfast before heading out. I decided some time last night that I was going to have a quarter (or possibly two bites) from a honey cruller donut this morning. I was delighted to find that I could buy one honey cruller timbit for a paltry $0.15 to have with my coffee. So I did. After hiking around the lower battery and out to the Fisgard lighthouse we sat on blankets in the shade and had a bite to eat. I had mixed nuts with some sugar-free chocolate chips and I had a little handful.

I also brought along a few rice crackers, some cheese and a couple of slices of garlic sausage. Also a big thermos of Crystal Light. Then a couple more pieces.
And another small handful of nuts and chocolate with extra fingers courtesy of Rob. I also brought my thermos of coffee but didn't drink much at the park - I did finish it after dinner though.
When I finally got home Doug and the slow cooker had done their job and there was lovely garlic pork roast waiting for me. Was too tired to worry about veg so we just had meat (120g), gravy (20g) and a salad.
A little later on, with calories to spare for the day, I enjoyed (really enjoyed) a Bryer's sugar-free fudge bar.
Total calories for the day 1,393 and 63g of carbohydrates.
