Rotten night, can't cope with work.

Woke up around 3:30 in the morning , lay in bed, went to the bathroom, got up for awhile, lay in bed some more and dozed off around 6:30 or so. My alarm usually goes off at 7am so I turned it off. Thanks to Doug got up in time to eat two hard-boiled eggs and knock back most of a mug of coffee and still get to work on time. Problem was I couldn't concentrate and was miserable.Came home and had a wee nap. When I woke up I was famished made a wrap with 40g of roast beef, 13g of bacon, 25g each of tomato and cucumber and some lettuce. Also mayo. Very tasty.
Since it was about 28 degrees celsius in the apartment I had a fudgesicle.
For dinner I was still out of sorts - I just had most of the lunch I would have had a work today. Tuna salad and the fresh veg.
So far today I've only had 1,093 calories and 39g of carbohydrates. However - we are going out to a movie tonight so I'm keeping my options open.

Not quite the weekend yet.

Had a bit of a restless sleep. Very tired this morning. Coffee, bacon and two eggs.Coffee at coffee break time. (And glad of it!)
Now, from the picture you might think the little plastic container has tuna salad in it - but this is not the case. This is the last of the slow-cooker pork roast - there's a couple of chunks underneath but I scooped all the little shreds off the plate and stuffed them in on top. (141g) also jicama 100g, celery 120g, and radishes 50g.
Dinner was two little hamburger patties (90g each before cooking) with a slice of cheese on top (20g total) and a side salad. Also a healthy squirt of dijon style mustard.
And finally a no-sugar-added fudgesicle. They really do taste very much like the real thing.
Total calories for today 1,417 and just 39g of carbohydrates.

working late means meals are strange

Began the day with a hard-boiled egg and a big mug of coffee. Before heading out to exercise I had a scoop of Whey Gourmet with 51g of blueberries to make it taste better.
Had a great workout. Made a wrap for lunch with 75g of deli turkey breast, a tablespoon of mayo, 30g each of cucumber and tomato and 23g of lettuce.
On the way to work I picked up a medium americano from that coffee shop.
Dinner was Gold Seal's smoked light tuna slices with ginger, 122g celery, 100g jicama, 44g of radishes and a jell-o no sugar added chocolate pudding cup.
I also had the last bite of last night's Bresse bleu which I had brought along because of it's already being in a handy bit of waxed paper when I was making my dinner this afternoon. 20g.
For my second break I had 30g of brazil nuts.
When I got home from work - as usual I felt I needed something and at least I had kept the calories reasonable today so had a big bowl of yogourt and blueberries.
Total calories for today 1,384 and 67g of carbohydrates.

Normal day, normal food, just normal

Having egg salad for lunch so didn't want usual cooked breakfast. Had one scoop of the Whey Gourmet protein powder in water but because it's soooo sweet I added 50g of frozen blueberries and whipped it up with my hand blender. It worked out just right. I also had most of a mug of coffee (when I got home from work I found, to my horror, 1/3 of a mug of cold coffee sitting in the sink!) And while I took a picture of a hard-boiled egg I never got around to eating it.Coffee break.
So, lunch was 2 hard-boiled eggs with a few capers and about 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise. The usual suspects of jicama (60g), radishes (40g) and celery (100g) and not quite 1/2 cup of rhubarb for dessert.
The rest of the coffee and a very sad bit of cheese on my afternoon break.
Dinner was slow-cooker pork roast (123g), broccoli (42g) with a teaspoon of butter, and a side salad.
Some time later I enjoyed another 50g of blueberries (now thawed) and 38g of my blue cheese.
Totals for today 1,324 calories and 41g of carbohydrates. Yay me!

oh dear, once again, everything I ate... yesterday.

I think the problem began when I woke up shortly after 5am and couldn't get back to sleep. I made breakfast at the regular time though, so I wouldn't be too hungry at work. One bacon, two eggs and one and a half cups of coffee.Yet more coffee on break.
Lunch was left-overs from last night's barbecue. 150g of teriyaki salmon (I made the sauce myself with splenda so not too sugary) one lonely slice of the grilled zucchini, four radishes and about 60g of jicama and a new product we found at Safeway this weekend - Jell-o no sugar added pudding cups. Because of all the milk products and thickeners they still have 6-8 effective carbs depending on the flavour but soooo handy and a nice change from gelatin.
On my afternoon break I had the little bit of coffee that remained and about half of the almonds in this bag - I did, however finish them off before dinner (40g total).
Doug had to work the late shift so I went with something easy. Clover Leaf Thai herb tuna in a pouch over salad. The salad had lettuce, four mushrooms, half a medium tomato, one green onion and the tuna and sauce from the packet heated and poured over top. It was pretty good.
My little chunk of Bresse Bleu cheese keeps calling to me from the back of the fridge - even though there are no strawberries to go with it. I had a late snack of 38g and then became so tired that I when Doug said he was shutting down the computer I didn't immediately say "but wait! my blog!
Totals for today 1,365 calories and 40g of carbohydrates.

2 ice cream treats and still low-cal?

Normal breakfast. That's one funny shaped strip of bacon smothered under two fried eggs and there's my coffee.
After going to physio and having a really good work-out we had lunch of the Flat-Out multigrain wraps with 60g of deli turkey, cucumber, tomato, lettuce and 20g of cheese - also a tablespoon of mayo. Very tasty.
Doug and I headed downtown to get our driving licenses renewed. The ICBC lady said "your information says you are 5 foot 7 and 250 pounds - should we change that?" I guess they have to be very discrete but it was obvious from my picture I'd lost a lot and my response was "Hell, yeah! Put me down for 89 kilos" That's actually just a couple of pounds lighter than I weighed in this morning, but I figure by my birthday when the new license comes into effect I should be pretty much there.
Feeling quite pleased with myself as we wandered around downtown I decided a taste of ice cream was necessary. I asked for a small of tiramisu flavour, stopped the lady when she reached back in for a little more and then only ate about 2/3 of what you see in the little dish. I figured about 60g eaten, although I think I'm rounding up.
After some more wandering and shopping we came home and turned on the new barbecue again. While things were cooking we started with our usual salad.
I had put a filleted side of salmon on and the thickest parts were taking a bit longer than anticipated. Doug got a piece but I started on the veg. while mine cooked a little more. Lovely grilled zucchini and a small portabello mushroom cap.
Finally my salmon! A drizzle of teriyaki sauce left over from our chicken satay night on Friday and another piece of zucchini. It was delish.
Some time later I decided a little more was in order and had I thought of my ice cream earlier in the day I probably would have chosen a bit of fruit or something else - but I didn't so here's a 70 calorie, no sugar added, fat free fudge pop. And my hydrangeas which are kind of sad this year.
In spite of a really yummy day the numbers from fitday come out at 1,293 calories and 64g of carbohydrates.

Everything I ate - yesterday

Sunday evening we went out to KnB's for dinner and I didn't manage to blog before bedtime - so here's yesterday...

Started normally with coffee. Two sausages and two fried eggs.
Went grocery shopping and when I got back the nuts looked so good and I was hungry so I had to have a few (30g) brazil nuts.
Realized mid-afternoon that I really needed something to keep me going until supper which would probably be later than we would normally eat. Had a Flat-Out multigrain wrap with 45g of cream cheese, 50g of lox and as much lettuce as I could pile on.
Brian always has the best beer. This one is from Brazil and was light and tasty and went down very easily.
We started with Brian's caesar salad with made from scratch dressing. Fitday credits it with lots of calories from the fat - which is correct but we didn't have croutons so slightly less carbs.
Dinner was roast beef - beautifully done, marinated with a little garlic and sliced thick! I also had two small roasted potatoes and a little of the very rich gravy. It was delicious.
After we played in the back yard for awhile we came back in for dessert and tea. Kathleen made a rhubarb compote but added blueberries and raspberries. She always cooks with stevia or splenda so there was no sugar added - she did pour a little light cream on top though. I also had some clear tea.
My rough guess with fitday is about 1,800 calories for the day and approximately 64g of carbohydrates. Not bad for roast beef dinner.
