Normal day, normal food, just normal

Having egg salad for lunch so didn't want usual cooked breakfast. Had one scoop of the Whey Gourmet protein powder in water but because it's soooo sweet I added 50g of frozen blueberries and whipped it up with my hand blender. It worked out just right. I also had most of a mug of coffee (when I got home from work I found, to my horror, 1/3 of a mug of cold coffee sitting in the sink!) And while I took a picture of a hard-boiled egg I never got around to eating it.Coffee break.
So, lunch was 2 hard-boiled eggs with a few capers and about 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise. The usual suspects of jicama (60g), radishes (40g) and celery (100g) and not quite 1/2 cup of rhubarb for dessert.
The rest of the coffee and a very sad bit of cheese on my afternoon break.
Dinner was slow-cooker pork roast (123g), broccoli (42g) with a teaspoon of butter, and a side salad.
Some time later I enjoyed another 50g of blueberries (now thawed) and 38g of my blue cheese.
Totals for today 1,324 calories and 41g of carbohydrates. Yay me!

Wahhh, the weekend's over.

Right, so last night I caved and had a snack of one of these fat-free, no sugar added fudge bars. They're surprisingly good considering they're not actually food. Adding that on put my total at 1,455 calories for Monday.Tuesday now and back to work after a wild and wooly weekend. Blech. I really needed the coffee.
We only had two eggs left so I thought to leave them for Doug and just have a protein shake for breakfast. Because lunch wouldn't be until 1:00pm I had two servings that added up to 260 calories. After saying how much I liked this brand I may have to recant. It's really sweet. Really very sweet. Going back to coffee after a few sips of this was a shocker.

Morning coffee break and, oh look, coffee.
One of my favoritest patrons ever, Mrs. Kathleen Meilleur (widow of the extremely charming Rosario Meilleur) took pity on us on such a busy day and brought a pint of cherries for the staff to nosh on. I had five. They were yummy.

For lunch I had a wrap made with one the Flat Out high fibre wraps. We had no lettuce or spinach so I thinly sliced some tomato and cucumber and used 60g of the left-over pork and 24g of cheddar cheese, also a smear of mayo. It was very tasty. On the side were 150g of celery and 60g of jicama.
For dessert sugar-free orange jell-o.
Finished off the coffee while checking my e-mail.
Dinner was the very last of the roast pork (125g) some broccoli (30g) with a smidgen of butter (2g) [I found out tonight via fitday that 2g of butter has 14 calories, whoa!] and a salad.
Since it's warm and I'm sweating in the kitchen I just had another of the Bryer's fudge bars. I'll probably have another one tomorrow since the weatherman is threatening 29C temperatures with humidity. In Victoria, that's very warm.
Totals for today 1,335 calories and 52g of carbohydrates.

Happy Canada Day!

Up early since the scooter gang is heading out to Fort Rodd Hill for the Canada Day celebrations!
Coffee.
Two fried eggs.
We meet at Timmy's and have coffee or breakfast before heading out. I decided some time last night that I was going to have a quarter (or possibly two bites) from a honey cruller donut this morning. I was delighted to find that I could buy one honey cruller timbit for a paltry $0.15 to have with my coffee. So I did. After hiking around the lower battery and out to the Fisgard lighthouse we sat on blankets in the shade and had a bite to eat. I had mixed nuts with some sugar-free chocolate chips and I had a little handful.

I also brought along a few rice crackers, some cheese and a couple of slices of garlic sausage. Also a big thermos of Crystal Light. Then a couple more pieces.
And another small handful of nuts and chocolate with extra fingers courtesy of Rob. I also brought my thermos of coffee but didn't drink much at the park - I did finish it after dinner though.
When I finally got home Doug and the slow cooker had done their job and there was lovely garlic pork roast waiting for me. Was too tired to worry about veg so we just had meat (120g), gravy (20g) and a salad.
A little later on, with calories to spare for the day, I enjoyed (really enjoyed) a Bryer's sugar-free fudge bar.
Total calories for the day 1,393 and 63g of carbohydrates.

A quiet evening at home alone

Well, okay Doug was here but it was just the two of us.

This morning started with coffee.I hadn't made a lunch the night before - very unusual and I discovered this evening that while multi-tasking this morning I had forgotten to take a picture of my two sausage patty, two egg breakfast. It looked just like this one from a couple of days ago though...

My usual thermos of coffee for break time.Lunch was the Gold Seal brand smoked tuna slices with ginger, a bit of left-over slightly sad looking avocado (80g) and the usual radish, celery and jicama selection of fresh veggies.

Dinner was last night's roast pork heated up with a little of the "gravy" (juices and the cooked garlic blitzed with the hand blender and a dash of xanthan gum for thickening), broccoli and a side salad with lots of mushrooms as we were out of tomato.
For some reason (maybe all the sweet fruit I've had the last two days) I really wanted a bite of sweetness after dinner. I had one dark chocolate covered piece of candied ginger. Yes, sugar but one piece only and the flavour is so intense it easily satisfies that craving.
Much later a 1/2 cup of the stewed rhubarb made with splenda. Yummy and hardly any calories.
Even counting 100 calories and 10g of carbohydrates for my little chockie today's total is only 1,366 calories and 40g of carbohydrates. Pretty good.

day six

Slept in a bit this morning and felt a little rushed getting ready for work. Started with coffee.

Made a fritatta for us, 4 eggs, a big handful of spinach, 4 mushrooms, the bits of celery root left over from last night and four tablespoons of boursin. Doug warmed up some sausages and we each had half the fritatta and 2 sausages.

Picked up a few things on the way to work (bribes for staff incl.) as well as a "Grande Americano" at that coffee shop because my usual place is closed on Sundays.

Break time at work had a hard boiled egg and 40g of brazil nuts. Oh, and I bought water because I forgot to bring some from home.

Best and easiest dinner tonight. Slow cooker garlic studded pork roast. I throw a big slice of onion half a carrot and some celery trimmings into the slow cooker. Poke holes in a pork roast and bury pieces of garlic cloves all around and about. Threw in a handful of jicama chunks instead of potatoes. A good pinch of herbs de provence and some salt leave on high setting for the five hours while we're away at work and voila! Dinner. Also salad. If I haven't mentioned already our usual salad is a handful of greens (varies with season/sales) four slices of cucumber and half a medium tomato with 15ml of dressing (also varies).

Probably could've done with just the diet coke, but had some calories and carbs left for the day so went ahead and had the last 125ml of plain yogourt sweetened with Torani sugar-free caramel syrup.
