Tired, so very tired...

Up way to early again. Coffee. Not particularly hungry and trying to get back to normal intakes so started with a double scoop of protein drink with a few raspberries.
Coffee break.
Lunch is tuna salad with the usual jicama, celery and radishes.
Dinner was a big pork chop (202g including bone) with a big spoonful of applesauce, some lovely fresh string beans and our usual side salad.
Totals for today (depending on if fitday includes the bone in the weight or not - I can't figure it out) 1,451 calories and 31g of carbohydrates. Yay!

Surf 'n' Turf at The Keg!

Regular breakfast of bacon, 2 eggs and coffee. For lunch I had a tiny turkey sandwich made with the thinnest slices I could cut of a whole wheat/flax loaf from the Village Patisserie. Also celery, radishes and jicama and a few raspberries with a tablespoon of cream.Americano from the Patisserie for after lunch.
Since we were going out for dinner tonight I thought I should have a decent snack in the afternoon rather than go more than six hours between meals. One hard-boiled egg and 30g of almonds.
Early on (like yesterday) I decided this was going to be a two drink dinner. I started with an apple cider. Certainly there are many drinks with fewer calories and less sugar but I needed something refreshing and this really appealed.
Kama and Rob each ordered appetizers. Here I had one small piece of Rob's calimari with teriyaki sauce. Spicy.
Here's the plate I was presented with. Steak with a scoop of mixed seafood in a creamy sauce, nearly half a tomato, a huge baked potato full of three cheese butter and a piece of grilled zucchini that Doug didn't want. I ate all of the seafood (there's a bit of asparagus in there too), the tomato, zucchini, about 2/3 of my steak and three bites of potato.
Everyone else at the table had huge, decadent desserts but I was still looking for my second drink so I ordered a Billy Miner Coffee which is coffee with Bailey's Irish Cream, Kahlua and whipped cream. It was fabulous.
Totals for today about one million, five hundred thousand calories and a couple hundred grams of carbohydrates. It was good though.

Too many treats!

Today started well enough even though I was still tired and sore from yesterday. Coffee, bacon and two fried eggs.Didn't go to physio-exercise for the first time since I started because I was, as previously stated, sore and tired. Instead I did all my stretches plus a few extra for good measure and all my mat/core exercises that I could do at home without equipment.
Before heading off to work I had a hard-boiled egg...
and the rest of the soup left-over from dinner last night. Also a slightly dried out bit of cheese that I had cut and not eaten and found floating around in the back of the fridge.
Dinner time at work was chicken salad (90g of chicken, 1 tbsp. mayo and a few capers) a bunch of radish, jicama and celery and a 1/2 cup container of raspberries with 15 ml of coffee cream on top.
I had brought the last four Reese's miniatures with me this afternoon. I had two of them after finishing my dinner.
When I finally got home from work, once again sore but not quite so tired today, I emptied my lunch bag so I could immediately start on tomorrow's lunch and found my cheese snack and the last two chocolates that I hadn't eaten - so I ate them as I do usually need a little something when I get off work.
Unfortunately I had forgotten that while picking up some sugar-free syrup at the Village Patisserie I had bought a strawberry-rhubarb scone. I was determined to have at least a bit of it before it went stale so I cut off about a third (78g worth) and had it with a little butter.
Had I remembered the scone I would have avoided the last two chocolates, however that's not what happened so for today the totals are 1,571 calories and a massive 88g of carbohydrates. Tomorrow evening we're going out for dinner so I guess I'll have to take it easy during the day and perhaps for a couple of days afterward.

Rough day, tired and hungry for solace.

Woke up around 5am and couldn't get back to sleep. Eventually got up and made coffee.Sometime later two fried eggs and one piece of bacon.
Coffee for my morning coffee break.
Lunch was the handy little Gold Seal Smoked Tuna w/ginger, my usual piles o' veg and 1/2 cup of raspberries. An easy lunch to put together.
By afternoon break I was completely shattered. We were working understaffed and it seemed quite busy. My bad foot was really bad and the good one was pretty sore too. My left knee was also very sore. I think I took about five ibuprofen between 11am and 4pm trying to make it manageable. Here's the rest of the coffee and 35g of almonds that I probably wouldn't have eaten if I hadn't been feeling so wretched.
Easy dinner tonight. We had one wrap left so we made one thick one with turkey, ham, cuke, tomato and mayonnaise and cut it in half. We also had my homemade chicken soup with a handful of dreamfields pasta and eight fresh crimini mushrooms cut up into it. Also rather a lot of chicken bits I picked off the carcasses when making the broth.
Bowl number two.
Still feeling tired and sore I wanted a little treat and found six chocolate covered nsa almonds lurking in the freezer.
The almonds were very moreish and in the end I caved and had 33g of blue cheese and 45g of strawberries for a snack. I actually managed to forget to take a picture and was suitably appalled but and more worried about getting a decent night's sleep and how I'll feel about exercising tomorrow morning.
Total calories for today 1,581 and 48g of carbohydrates.

Now that's more like it!

Coffee to begin my day.I was having eggs for lunch (and one for dinner) so I didn't want them for breakfast. Had 1/2 cup of yogourt with the last of that batch of raspberries (35g) and a serving of the whey protein drink.
Well, I ended up not getting to the yogourt so dumped it in a container and had it with some coffee for my morning break.
At lunch time I had lots of the usual assortment of vegetables.
And two eggs made into egg salad with a bit of celery, mayo and a sprinkle of paprika.
Finished off the thermos of coffee in the afternoon.
Dinner was chef salad. A slice each of ham, turkey and roast beef, lettuce, mushroom, tomato and cucumber, a hard boiled egg and shredded cheese all topped with ranch dressing. Yum.
Drum roll please... calories 1,259 and 37g of carbohydrate. Now that's what I call a diet!

Almost made it...

and by that I mean I almost made it through the day without having something that I probably shouldn't have if I continue to pretend to be living low-carb.

Started well with one sausage, one fried egg and my usual coffee.Went to physio/exercises then to my mom's for lunch. She had cold loin of pork and a little salad. I'm figuring 100-120g pork, a bit of lettuce, two thick slices of tomato, celery sticks, a sprinkling of fresh garden herbs and a squirt of rice vinegar.
Dessert was rhubarb cooked with splenda.
I was hungry well before dinner so I had 29g of almonds and made some coffee - which I promptly forgot about.
Dinner was roast chicken. I had a small breast only 107g, some broccoli and our usual side salad.
Found the coffee I had forgotten so made iced coffee which was nice since it's still pretty warm in the apartment.
Doug brought home some two-for-one baked goods from the Village Patisserie. This is a chunk off their "fruit 'n' fibre" muffin. It's extremely dense and made with whole wheat flour and flax as well as raisins and dried apricots. Healthy perhaps, low-carb - not even close. I broke off about a third and weighed it to input in fitday just as "bran muffin" which is as close as I could get. (ie not very)
Still, overall for the day 1,397 calories and about 58g of carbohydrates.
