Wednesday

Feeling very tired knowing the chaos that's waiting at work - between holiday weekends and strike action nothing will be normal and the staff will just run like mad all day playing catch-up. I had coffee at home and made 2 scoops of whey protein drink but took it to work in a little bottle for my morning break.
Came home at lunch to get away from the mess and was lucky enough to still have left-overs that I could just heat in the microwave. Brussell sprouts, sweet potato, turkey and cranberry sauce.
In the afternoon I went to the Village Patisserie for a coffee - which I drank but didn't manage to take a picture of, sorry. I also bought a super-flax muffin for my dinner since Doug is working late for the second night in a row and I'm too lazy to cook. Also I could use a little more fibre in my diet right now.
By the time Doug came home and we sat down together to watch CSI New York I was feeling peckish so had a handful (30-35g) of mixed nuts.
I tried to get an estimate from fitday - difficult not know all the muffin ingredients - however let's call it 1,573 calories and 107g carbohydrates (though much of that is fibre).

Sunday - slightly hung-over with party left-overs to eat

Surprisingly didn't actually want coffee first thing. Had some of the left-over peach that we had been using as a garnish last night with about 1/2 cup of yogourt.
Eventually wanted my coffee and grabbed four of the little nsa sugar-free cookies that I managed to avoid last night.
More coffee!
Finally hungry again around 4pm. Had gingerale and the left-overs of Kama's spicy nuts. About 1/2 cup of seasoned cashews and almonds.
Since I was not going to be shopping or cooking today Doug ran over to Safeway and picked up a pre-cooked bbq chicken from the delo. For dinner I made a small salad and just shredded some of the chicken breast on top.
Sorry - didn't do fit day at all - probably won't Monday either since I'll be going out with a friend for coffee/snacks as well as going to Mom's for Thanksgiving dinner.

Thursday - hanging in there... barely.

Made coffee and forgot to take a picture. Guess I'm more tired than I thought. Went to the patisserie to pick up a muffin (day-old superflax 2 for 1) and got another coffee to go with. Ate part of the muffin while doing set-up at work.

Ate a little more of the muffin (but did throw out a bit) with my coffee at break-time.
For lunch I had brought 57g of salami, 31g of cheddar and the usual veggies.

Bought some groceries (even though I haven't been cooking much) on my lunch-hour. Picked up a pop and 2 cans of Planters deluxe mix on sale - one for Saturday night and one for my co-workers who've put up with a grumpy me for so long. I had this little pile of nuts on my break but forgot to stop and put some gum in my mouth and snuck one or two nuts out of the can most of the afternoon. This is exactly why I'm supposed to be taking pictures! Rats! Probably ate at least this much again... maybe more.


Of course when I got home I wasn't hungry for dinner. Around 8:00 I finally did up one of the fish fillets that were supposed to be on the menu. Since I was too lazy to do up veg and a salad I wanted more and so the last jell-o pudding became dessert.


Not long after I reverted to my old habits while sitting and watching CSI - instead of stretching I lay on the couch moaning over my sore feet and knee and asked Doug to share some of his power-pop that he was eating. That's a few kernels in the used jell-o cup. Then - I asked him to get me a 30g serving of yet more mixed nuts (the same bag from earlier in the week - not the can I just bought for company). At least he weighed it and after that I stuck a piece of gum in my mouth and was able to last another hour until I crawled into bed.


All in all not a good day - and I didn't even try and keep up with fitday.

Lots of pictures, but really not that much food.

Holiday Monday - of course I have all Mondays off for the summer while I'm working Saturdays but thought I'd have a scooter outing just the same. Coffee.One slice of bacon, two fried eggs.

Went roaming around with fellow scooter enthusiast Rob (we both ride 50cc Honda Jazz/Metropolitan scooters and are very in sync with each other's riding style which makes it fun). Avoided the more popular beaches because of the holiday and ended up at Mount Doug, which does have a small beach area. After we wandered around poking at dead things in the shallows for awhile we sat on a log and had a snack. I had one and a bit rice crackers and about 30g of cheddar and one very small plum.


Then, because it didn't look very far on the map, we decided to hike to the summit. The elevation is only 213 metres after all.
With only one five minute stop to catch our breath we reached the top and had a gander at the view and some water as well as a nosh before we headed back down (much easier!). I had brought a baggie with mostly almonds, a few brazil nuts and some no-sugar-added dark chocolate chips. I had a small handful, then awhile later an even smaller handful (I'm guessing 60g total?) and another small plum.



Having made it successfully down the hill with no injuries we adjourned to Timmy's for coffee and (for me anyway) one timbit.
When I got home I was too tuckered out to think about dinner right away and ate the rest of our "trail mix" as I unpacked it.
Dinner was two slices (105g) of meatloaf that I had purchased yesterday at the Red Barn, some sauted baby bok choi from Sun Wing (also yesterday) and a side salad.

And for dessert the last of the diet fudgesicles. My mom had given me some Russell Stover's no-sugar-added chocolate treats this morning and I made the mistake of leaving them out on the dining room table. I had one then hid the rest away so I won't think about them.
Since I didn't weigh most of what I ate today I can only estimate with the help of fitday. I'm going to say about 1,500 calories and 68g of carbohydrates. If it's more, so what, I climbed a &*$#$*@# mountain today!

Whoops

Today started much the same as every other day. Coffee, bacon and eggs.Work was surprisingly busy for a holiday weekend. I didn't have a chance to leave the workroom for my break so I had the half Atkins bar from my purse and some of my coffee.
Lunch time I had tuna slices with ginger, my usual celery, radish and jicama as well as some sugar-free peach gelatin.
Could this have been the beginning of my problem? There was trail mix at work. I only had one almond but grabbed it without thinking then had to put it down, fish out my camera and take a picture. It sat on my shelf for a couple of hours before I got back to it.
I had brought some mixed nuts for a snack which is why my taking one almond from the bowl was so pointless. At them after lunch while checking my e-mail in the workroom.
For my afternoon break I had a 39g bite of cheese and the rest of my thermos of coffee.
When I got home we were both too tired to get dinner right away. I poured a big glass of diet ginger-ale and had a little bowl of pork rinds. (30g)
Eventually Doug got hungry and made dinner. If he hadn't I might have just had another snack and called it a night. Maybe. I had a pork chop (149g) and some green beans (1/3 cup?) a tablespoon of unsweetened applesauce and our usual side salad.
Not long after dinner I succumbed to more nuts. I've had this bag in the house for weeks and it hasn't "called to me" but tonight I really wanted more. Had a bigger than usual serving and took a picture of it even though I'm not happy about having eaten it. Blech. I suppose if I can stay honest in this blog even when I over-eat then something is being accomplished. Oh well.
2,114 calories today, yikes.
