and then today the muffin won...

Coffee.One sausage, one fried egg.
More coffee.
Tuna salad, celery, jicama, radishes and a jell-o chocolate nsa/fat-free pudding.
Yet more coffee.
When I picked up the coffee in the afternoon - which I don't think I really needed I bought one of Susie's 'superflax' muffins. She was just bagging them up for the end of the day 2 for 1 special and I had to insist that I only wanted one. I mentioned that they were very big and dense and had a lot of calories but she (as the baker) said they weren't as calorie-laden as commercially made muffins since she used all whole grains and much less fat.
I really can't say with any certainty because of the muffin - but fitday gives me 1,857 calories and 146g of carbs.

One step at a time

Today I didn't go to the gym or even work. My sinus headache is still around, sometimes my ear or throat hurts too but not all the time. I really, really don't want to take antibiotics for this since I'm convinced that's what caused this recurring condition to flare up in the first place.
If you're thinking "hey, that's the same picture as yesterday's coffee" well you're right. I didn't remember to take a picture this morning. I did however have a mug of coffee identical to this one.For a brunch type meal I used the tiny bit of left-over bbq pork chop-suey from Tuesday night's dinner (about 1/2 cup), chopped as the base for an 2 egg omelet/fritatta thingy. It was surprisingly delicious.

About mid-afternoon I had some veg. that I had previously bagged for work but never eaten.

And a single 15g serving of pork rinds, hot and spicy flavour. This is significant because much like potato chips it's really, really hard to stop at one serving. Today I did.
Doug picked up two kinds of dinner sausage at the butcher's on his way home from work. The turkey sausage with feta and sundried tomato is my favorite but they frequently have trouble with keeping the meat in the casing - that's it on the far right of the picture. Also on my plate is half of one of their huge beef sausages (English bangers) just the half weighed in at 50g! Also lots of broccoli and our usual salad.
Having re-discovered them in the freezer I was ready for another sugar-free, fat-free fudge pop.
A few hours later I had a pot of tea and half of one of the Flaxmachine cookies (one cookie is actually three servings so I always weigh them).
Total calories today 1,453 and 53g of carbohydrates.

Birthday tomorrow, steak tonight.

Coffee.Wasn't really hungry - shopping and lots of food prep for tomorrow's big picnic. Ate the last of the yogourt out of the container - about a serving (1/2 cup). I put 2/3 in fitday just in case.
Lunch of sausage and egg just because it was easy while I had a ton of other stuff happening in the kitchen.
One of the many things I was making was my favorite and (if I say so myself) famous chocolate chip cookies. Back in my fat days I would eat spoonfuls of the dough while making the cookies. Today I took a small pinch out of the bowl, weighed it and enjoyed. Fitday credited this little morsel with 60 calories and 8 carbs!
Birthday boy got his steak dinner a day early since I have no idea when we'll get home tomorrow of what we'll be doing for dinner. I made a larger than average salad and we each had a barbecued rib eye steak. My steak was 282g before cooking and I left 58g on my plate. (Steak and eggs for breakfast tomorrow if I remember). The drink is diet root beer.
Total for today 1,268 calories and only 30g of carbohydrates. That's okay - I'll make up for it tomorrow!

Not hungry today.

Started with a relatively big breakfast. Doug had just done up a dozen sausages (our own version of heat'n'serve) so I had a couple and two fried eggs and coffee of course.Didn't feel like my coffee at break time - had a diet Dr. Pepper instead.
Lunch was tuna salad, celery and jicama and the last few raspberries with a little coffee cream.
Drank most of my thermos of coffee after lunch.
Dinner was left-over beef stew, again with a piece of carrot and some jicama as well as steamed broccoli. Plus the usual side salad.
That's it - that's all she wrote. I thought about having some cheese and fruit this evening but got busy and just didn't bother. Today only 1,161 calories and 29g of carbohydrate. No one more surprised than me!

Wait, that's not bacon! Finally finished the kg of natural bacon yesterday so today I had a couple of sausages. The top sausage is actually local lamb, the bottom one supermarket pork sausage. Also two eggs and coffee.Morning break - coffee and the remains of an Atkins bar I've been carrying around for awhile.
Tuna salad chunk light tuna in water, 10g of chopped walnuts, a tablespoon plus a little of mayonnaise. 73g of avocado on top. Baggie with radish, jicama and lots of celery slightly out of shot. Sugar-free cherry jell-o.
Doug's at work tonight and I was supposed to have the "Lyin' Pork Ribs" (see May 29th) but had my home-made chicken soup instead. I boiled up a few chicken carcasses that we saved in the freezer (Doug's all over this since he saw Nigella do it). Added some mushrooms and a handful of Dreamfield's penne pasta. Not much actual chicken, maybe 30g. Also 45g of cheddar cheese that was originally going to be my afternoon break but got left behind, and the last two slices of salami.
Seconds on soup.
Total calories for today 1,474. Carb count 39 but that doesn't take into account Dreamfields pasta over the regular stuff.
