Still taking pictures.

Wednesday, January 9th. Coffee, 2 sausage, 2 eggs. More eggs for lunch (3 med as salad w/capers) carrot and celery sticks and radishes.

For dinner used up the rest of the savoy cabbage along with a barely visible blackened pork chop (not on purpose) and a salad.

Hungry watching movies later on. Had a mug of coffee and a small handful of PowerPop and a couple of werther's coffee caramel sugar-free candies.

Thursday, January 10th. Coffee, bacon and two eggs.

Really, really drowsy at work. Got the largest, strongest coffee I could. Was chipper and perky the rest of the day.

Lunch was a sandwich made on high-fibre (since we can't call it low-carb in Canada anymore) bread. Montreal smoked meat with a little cheese and dijon mustard. Carrot and celery sticks and a few radishes. Yogourt for dessert that I didn't eat until afternoon break. Wasn't too hungry at lunch because of the gallon of coffee but by mid-afternoon I wanted something more. Bought a small bag of almonds at the grocery and was going to count, but ended up eating more than half the bag. When I got home and weighed it discovered 80g of almonds missing. Didn't seem like much but sure packs a lot of calories!

Sliced turkey breast with a little gravy and piles of oven-roasted cauliflower. Also salad. Big mug of de-caf with a little sugar-free Torani syrup (english toffee flavour) which is kinda like dessert.

Stress and discomfort and eating too much

The day started out well enough with coffee, one egg and one sausage.
Coffee break.Lunch is usually hard to mess up on since I've packed it the night before. Tuna salad, celery, radish and (surprise) broccoli and 1/2 cup blackberries with a little cream. At work we talk about the impending strike --> stress.
So I'm home from work and my husband is working late for the second night in a row so on my own for dinner. I'm pretty tired, my feet are sore (and I think I might have a slight bladder infection or some such) so I sit down at the computer to play and don't make dinner until I'm absolutely starving. Bad idea. I grab a wrap and since there's only about 70g of chicken left I make up the difference with bacon I had pre-cooked (nearly 40g) some mayo, tomato and lettuce and that should be dinner. I wolf it down and am still hungry for more (mistake number two).
So I grab the first easy thing I find (albeit from the freezer) almonds and some nsa chocolate chips. 30g of almonds and 20g of chocolate chips later and I feel a little ill and realize I've gone over my calorie goal for the day. Rats.
Calories today 1,674 (at least) but only 36g (net) of carbohydrates.

Saturday evening at the movies...

Victoria's Free-B Film Festival began this weekend. Every Saturday in August they have free "B" movies at the park bandshell. This week was Yellow Submarine. I think I enjoyed it much more this time around than when I was very young and didn't really understand it. Everyone sang along. All together now, all together now!

To munch on during the film I took two pieces of dark chocolate-cover candied ginger, 40g of almonds and two sugar-free candies. After the movie we were cold and didn't want to go right home so ended up (actually, as usual) at the Moka House in Cook St. Village. I had a small decaf and Doug and I split a date square (how decadent!). I had the sliver you see on the right side of the plate, about a third of the square. For the purposes of fitday I guessed that it was about 30g because although it wasn't very big it was very dense.
That brings my total for Saturday to about 1,516 calories and 79g of carbs.
